The Godly Family and her challenges (INTRODUCTION)

Family difficulties are at the top of churches and counselling centres counselling lists. So many people have questions about their families and only a few people appear to have sufficient answers. A great family or household, on the other hand, is part of the testimony of a man. A great family or household is the foundation for the success of any man or woman in any aspect of life.

When God, the creator of marriage and the family, recounted the merits of Job, he especially mentioned his family, not only his character traits and assets.

"There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man

was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. And

there were seven sons and three daughters. His substance also was seven

thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of

oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this

man was the greatest of all the men of the east."- Job 1:1-3

God created the family to succeed, not to fail! He demonstrated this by actively participating in the formation of the first marriage and later, the family.

"And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept:

and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made him a woman, and

brought her unto the man."- Genesis 2:21-22

God did not create the first marriage by simply speaking it into being like He did the rest of creation. He was practically a part of its establishment. The delights and blessings that God may bring to all aspects of your life through a successful family life are limitless. There is a sense of fulfilment that comes with familial achievement. This happiness simply overflows into every aspect of life. Joy invites divine presence, and divine presence brings forever delight (Psalms 16:11).

The family can be compared to a high-end product. The family cannot function well until relevant raw materials are thoroughly processed, just as every product needs vital raw materials before it can be made and function excellently.

Joshua 1:8 depicts the factory where all the raw elements for a successful family can be obtained:

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt

meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according

to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous,

and then thou shalt have good success.

The factory for family success is this book of the law, or the Word of God. It is chock-full of principles that, when applied and implemented, will guarantee not just success, but excellent success. Total obedience to biblical marriage standards is required for a successful home.

God wants us to succeed in every aspect of our lives. It is not, however, a coincidental occurrence. Nothing successful can be regarded as an accident, because no accident can be used as testimony.

The fact that many people are disappointed, unhappy, fed up, and failing does not change the fact that God's Word is true. The family is built to succeed! In order to be appropriated, this reality should be acknowledged.

Go to God now and participate in the storm from His favored position. Pray now;

Dear God, I'm an upbraided rapscallion requiring your thoughtfulness; offer grace to me and wash me clean from all bad behavior with the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth; I recognize Jesus Christ as my Master and Individual Friend in need; I'm resurrected, a Christian, and a posterity of God; in Jesus' name, amen.
